I have coached as long as I can remeber in my proffesional life. 

As a strategist you step into many situations demaping you to ask the critical questions, the eye-opening questions placing the aks, the situaton and problem in a frame work where you make the people you are working with take part of the solution and untangle the problem. 

As a designer you coach clients, stakeholders, bosses, collegues and requesters. As a profesionally educated desinger you are often in a situation where you have to coach the the situation to be able to do you work and create a solution meeting the needs solving the problem. 

As a manager of people (and if you are a good one) you coach employees, your boss, the situation... Being a manager is not always about giving all the solutions and fixing the situation. It is also sometimes about supporting your employee to get there with own power.
